RiskEssence founder, David Loyd, has accumulated over 40 years experience in aerospace and energy research, engineering, management, operations, and hazardous testing. Much of this experience has focused on management and assessment of both occupational safety and quality assurance programs in high-tech endeavors.
Background:
Reduced recordable injury rate more than 50% at all workplaces throughout his safety management career with NASA and the Idaho National Laboratory.
Implemented ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard and contributed to OSHA VPP Star designation for NASA’s premier hazardous test and research facility.
Served 12 years as adjunct instructor teaching Safety Program Management, Hazard Control, and Fire Safety Engineering.
Delivered seminars for Facility Risk Assessment, Safety Communication, and Accident Investigation to industry professionals.
Served as a charter member of NASA’s Safety Culture Working Group.
Led NASA agency-wide training efforts focused on “Basic Safety & Health Program Elements for NASA Supervisors,” and “Safety & Mission Assurance in the Federal Acquisition Process”.
Registered as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Safety Management Professional (SMP) with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Certified AS9100:2016 Aerospace Quality Management System Auditor with the International Aerospace Quality Group.
Educated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Industrial Engineering.
